Why we created Better Ending
Better Ending was created because we’ve seen what happens when important decisions are left unspoken — both professionally and personally.
We’ve watched families struggle to piece things together during moments of grief. We’ve seen capable, loving people avoid planning not because they don’t care, but because the process feels overwhelming, intimidating, or emotionally heavy.
We believed there had to be a better way.
Better Ending is our answer — a thoughtful, guided process that helps people organize their wishes with clarity and care, without fear or pressure.
We don’t rush people.
We don’t tell anyone what their decisions should be.
And we don’t believe this has to be done all at once.
Instead, we focus on helping people understand what matters, make thoughtful choices, and document them clearly — step by step, in a way that feels manageable.
This work isn’t about perfection.
It’s about peace of mind.
Claudia brings more than 25 years of experience across law, healthcare administration, and financial planning to her work at Better Ending.
Throughout her career, she’s seen firsthand the confusion and stress families face when plans haven’t been made — and how much relief comes when things are organized and clearly documented.
Claudia has a steady, compassionate way of guiding people through complex decisions without pressure or overwhelm. She helps participants slow down, focus on what truly matters, and move forward with confidence.
She’s a wife and mother of two, a lifelong learner, and a devoted caretaker of her many animals. Outside of work, Claudia enjoys watercolor painting, volunteering with with mental health organizations, and spending time with family and close friends.

Gretchen brings warmth, empathy, and lived experience to Better Ending.
After navigating the loss of several close family members without plans in place, she saw how overwhelming it can be for loved ones left behind. Those experiences shaped her belief that this work should feel human, approachable, and supportive — not intimidating.
Gretchen has a natural ability to put people at ease. Her humor, honesty, and compassion help participants feel comfortable asking questions and making decisions that align with their values.
She’s a mother to two boys and two dogs, works as a dental hygienist, and is on the Board of Directors for Fort Bend Mental Health. Known for her gift of connecting people, Gretchen values deep conversations, meaningful relationships, and helping others feel less alone in difficult moments.
Together, we bring different backgrounds, shared values, and a deep respect for how personal this work is.
We believe planning ahead is an act of love — and that everyone deserves guidance that feels thoughtful, clear, and judgment-free.
If you’re ready to begin or just want help figuring out where to start, we’re here.
